Co-desiging peer-to-peer support tools

In 2017, building on the learning from our pilot, the Jamiya Project is working with Syrian students to co-design several new solutions to support Syrian students access and succeed at university focussed on peer-to-peer support and content generation.

PILOT SPOCS in JORDAN

Along with the University of Gothenburg, the Jamiya Project ran two pilot 'Small Private Online Courses' (SPOCs) in Jordan over 2016-17, developed by Syrian and Swedish academics, and delivered using a blended learning method. The course focused on Applied IT, delivered in Arabic and English, and certified by the University of Gothenburg.

JAMIYA VOCAPP

With Empower Hack, the Jamiya Project is developed a web app to support Syrian refugee students with academic language learning. VocApp will provide key references for a subject, an online learning community of Syrian academics and students, and vocabulary micro-learning system.
